Vintage Retro Earrings gold emeralds rubies diamonds Globes Stars 1940's (7483)

Vintage Retro earrings. Gold and gems including emeralds, rubies and diamonds. Made in Italy, circa 1940-50's.  

Measurements: Weight is 11.3 grams. A little over 1 1/2 inches (4cm) long, not including wires.

Description : Fun pair of Retro dangle drop earrings. Long wires, easy to insert with a few loops at the top to allow the earrings to swing and sway as the wearer moves. A small gold globe is joined by more loops to a larger gold globe. The latter with raised stars, each inset with a gemstone - small emeralds, rubies and diamonds. 
Lovely sense of form and movement. 

Marks and Metal: One of the earrings has an unknown hallmark.    

Condition: Good with minor wear commensurate with age.  Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.   

THE STORY: Around the mid 20th century the attention of the world was drawn to the looming space race and the efforts to reach other worlds than our own. Space related jewelry became popular at the same time as the bold designs and style of the Retro era. The result is this highly wearable, impressive pair of earrings, versatile and comfortable to wear, will catch the eye of every onlooker.
