Vintage gold chain necklace. 18k gold, lac and cotton thread. Made in India, 50-80 years ago. Unisex - suitable for a man or a woman.
Measurements: Total length is a little over 27 inches (69cm) long, including the thread which is approximately 5 1/4 inches (14cm) long. Weight is 22.8 grams, inclusive of thread.
Description : Classic olive pit shaped beads of gold filled with a hard resin, called lac. Beads are connected via metallic-gold-colored thread. Further thread at the back extends the length of the necklace in typical Indian fashion. Similar necklaces are still being made today, a reflection of the versatility and popularity of the design. This is a vintage example.
This is a most versatile necklace. Suitable to be worn by anyone looking to complete an outfit, look smart and brighten up their appearance.
Marks and Metal: As with all old Indian jewelry, there are no marks. The gold was electronically tested as 20k and we will guarantee 18k to err on the side of caution.
