Vintage Butterfly Brooch Colored Diamonds Green Garnet Gold w Appraisal (6835)

Vintage butterfly brooch. 14k gold, silver, diamonds, colored diamonds and green tsavorite garnets. Exact age and origin not known, but at least a number of decades old.

Measurements: Weight is 4.2 grams. Distance at widest point across wings is just under 1 1/4 inches (3cm). 1.11ct diamonds. 0.36ct garnets.

Description : Butterfly with outstretched wings. Beautiful anatomic detail to the body which is made of tapering bands finely set with diamonds. Gold antennae with diamond feelers and golden eyes protrude from the body. The wings are pave set with yellow diamonds and green garnets (tsavorites). Gems are set in silver over gold. The back is a honeycomb of gold, pierced so that light comes through to the gems. Excellent workmanship. Secure clasp. Small, but very lovely. Highly versatile: can be worn with any outfit by a man or woman on lapel, blouse, pocket, scarf or tie.

Marks and Metal:No marks. Gold was electronically tested to ensure metal purity.
