Antique Victorian earrings 18k Gold Diamonds French ear Pendants (7190)

Antique Victorian era earrings. 18k gold and diamonds. Made in France, 19th century.

Measurements: Weight is 4.60 grams. 1.88ct Old European cut diamonds.

Description : Classic flower formed diamond earrings. Gold wires with hinges make them easy to insert, comfortable to wear and secure. Wires go from back of ear to front, which is how earrings were made during the Victorian era and this shows us that these earrings are entirely original. Lovely Old European cut diamonds are very pretty.
Interesting and unusual in that the diamonds are not set in silver, but in gold, which is the only metal used. (most diamonds of the period were set in silver over gold).
Versatile and wearable. Suitable for any and every occasion from jeans to a bride or fancy party. Understated elegance.

Marks and Metal: Maker's mark lozenge and French horse head for 18k gold 1859-1919.
