Antique Victorian bracelet gold citrines heart padlock clasp English (7505)

Antique Victorian bracelet. Gold, citrines. Made in England 19th century.  

Measurements:

Weight is 15.5 grams. Approximately 6 3/4 inches (17.7)long, not including the lock, which will add a few mm. 
Heart-shape citrine calculated weight 5.03cts, based on estimated dimensions of 12 by 11.4 by 7.1 mms 

Description : 

Bracelet consists of alternating circular gold links like small tubes and hexagonal colette mounts that each hold a similarly shaped citrine. Citrines with large flat tables and gentle faceting on the sides. Citrines of a rich golden brown-orange.
The padlock clasp is another highlight. Padlock clasps have become quite rare and with gemset hearts, especially so. The heart of course indicates that this bracelet was given as a token of love and we will always be reminded of romance by this form. 
The clasp is easy to insert into the two links at either end of the bracelet and then to simply click closed. 
In addition, there is a gold security chain.

As wearable and striking today as it was 150 years ago.  Makes the perfect gift.

Marked 9ct on the back. 
     

Condition:

THE STORY: 

Highly wearable bracelet but especially suitable for the fall and winter months with Halloween and Thanksgiving holidays to celebrate. So romantic to have the gemset heart padlock clasp. We can read a multiple of meanings into the heart and surely, the Victorians understood the symbolism even more clearly. 
The fact that the bracelet has an attached security chain indicates that it was seen as an important item to the previous owner. We don't know who the previous generations of owners were, but we do know that it was the perfect give of love and affection and it still makes the perfect gift.
