Antique Earrings 14k Gold Rose-cut Diamonds Russian St Petersburg (7113)

Antique earrings. 14k gold and diamonds. Made in St. Petersburg, Russia late 1800's to early 1900's. Measurements: Weight is 4.2 grams. Length, not including the wires, is a little over 1.5cm. Description : round earrings consisting of concentric rings of gold and diamonds. The raised center is a rosecut diamond held by prongs descending into gold loops forming a flower shape. This is bordered on the outside by a ring of gold, followed by another circle of rosecut diamonds, held up by similar looped prongs. In appearance much like a ruffled skirt. Each fluted segment of the gallery tapers to a point that joins a ring of gold that adds solidity to the mount. Simple gold wires are easy to insert and comfortable to wear. Marks and Metal: marks on the wires are somewhat worn, but we can clearly see 56 for 14k gold in Russia. Maker appears to be AB (or AP). Town mark for St. Petersburg is also worn.
