Antique Art Deco ring. Platinum, natural, untreated sapphire and diamonds. Made in France, circa 1920-30-s. Has French LFG Paris certificate (their equivalent to the American GIA).
Measurements: Weight is 5.3 grams. Just under US size 5 1/2. Sapphire is pear shaped, deep blue, 2.14ct. Diamond accents approximately 0.18ct.
Description : Very finely made ladies ring with a deep blue sapphire in the center. The sapphire really needs to be seen in daylight to be properly appreciated - the color is fantastic, ranging from royal blue to deep shadows, depending on how the light catches it. It is certified to originate in Burma/Myanmar and that there is no indication of treatment/heating.
Tiny diamonds offset the sapphire, contrasting both in color, size and tone - light and dark, to add glint, gleam and show off the sapphire to great effect. The diamonds are very finely set.
Mount is in platinum, with filigree edges holding the diamonds.
Beautiful French style, chick and workmanship of the highest quality as is the wonderful rare sapphire.
Marks and Metal: French Mascaron mark (masked man) indicating platinum. Also, electronically tested to ensure metal purity.
Condition: Good with minor wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
