Buccellati Dragonfly Brooch Plique-à-jour Enamel 18k Gold Italy Vintage (5657)

Vintage estate brooch. 18k gold, garnets, plique a jour enamel. Made in Italy by Buccellati. Circa 1960-70's.

Measurements:

approximately 1 3/4inches long. Weighs 6.3grams.

Description:

Dragonfly made of gold and plique a jour enamel - the most techically challenging and delicate enamelling technique, demanding masterful craftsmanship. Eyes are cabochon garnets. Very bright primary colors that compliment the high carat gold. 

 Marks:

 the bottom of the dragonfly is engraved with 750, the Buccellati maker's mark, the name BUCCELLATI ITALY and 18k.

Condition:

No damage to the plique a jour. Magnification shows some sort of green enamel remnant , not visible to naked eye. Please see enlarged 'photos and ask any questions which we will do our best to answer.
