Potpourri and openwork cover made by Worcester Grainger, 1870-80 in the George Owen reticulated style.
Just under 3 1/2inches high and 4 1/2inches from side to side.
Exquisitely modelled in cream porcelain with scrolling handles like folded acanthus leaves, at either end.
All edges gilded.
Naturalistically floral-form finial with rich gilding.
Openwork of cover resembles a symbolic Celtic tree and pattern of bottom openwork is also Celtic in it's interlacing overlapping design.
Both lid and pot are marked with the Grainger mark used 1870-80 (no England/Made in England).
Mint condition.
