Antique vintage ring emerald diamonds 18k gold Indian (7256)
$3,750.00
/
Availability:
1 left in stock
Antique / vintage ring. 18k gold, emerald and diamonds. Made in Calcutta, India. Exact age impossible to establish. Made in Victorian style and possibly 60-100 years old. Unisex - suitable for a man or a woman. Independent gemological appraisal.
Measurements: Weight is 5.1 grams. Approximately US size 4. Emerald .24ct; diamonds .52ct.
Description : A beautiful little ring in the style the French call Marguerite or Daisy because of its flower form. A square cut emerald forms the center of the flower and 8 rosecut diamonds form the petals. Very solid setting with no gaps between gems. Flower rises up above the finger, like a blossom emerging from the soil in spring time. Beautiful combination of gems with lovely green gleaming bright or sinking into shadow as the light catches it.
The shank with cross bars below the shoulders divides into 3 foliate branches with scrolling edges, very much in the Victorian style. They form a secure and solid background for the gems, which are the star of the show.
Versatile and lovely. The ring can be worn by a man or a woman, alone or in combination with other rings.
Until 1911, Calcutta (Kolkata) was the capital of the British Raj in India. It appears that there was a lot of British-style jewelry made there at the time and we have found fascinating jewelry that combines 'east and west'.
Marks and Metal: Marks inside the shank include 18k/750 and other unknown marks. Back of bezel is engraved VCT - believed to be initials of a previous owner.
Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
Independent gemological appraisal available to new owner. Valued at $7550.00Appraisal has incorrect weight - see correct measurements above.
Default Title - $3,750.00 USD
