Description :
Glowing bright orange, this is a striking example of Art Deco elegance and strong design. Navette shaped (an oval with pointed ends), it combines both delicate, fine diamond openwork in platinum -light, bright and sparkling, with very strong, vivid and rich fiery hues of the exceptionally large fire opal. The contrasts work together to create an exquisite jewel. The brilliance and depth of the bright orange opal set off and enhanced by the diamonds.
Beautiful workmanship matches and showcases the quality of the central gem. The whole displaying the geometric clean lines of the Art deco era.
Both bold and sophisticated, this piece embodies timeless glamour - perfect as a statement ring or a distinctive addition to any fine jewelry collection.

THE STORY:
Also known as Mexican fire opals, these opals are strikingly unique and unmistakable in appearance. Full of fire, light and heat, the name is an apt description of their appearance. Antique jewelry with fire opals is highly sought after and commands relatively high prices - possibly due its rarity and possibly due to its eye-catching, fiery appearance. While small fire opals can be regularly found on the market, fire opals of this size are extremely rare.
Fire opals are mainly found in Mexico, which is clear from their name. Lesser examples are found elsewhere, for example in the USA, they are usually not of the same vibrant quality with the light and fire that we see in our ring.
