Wolfers Victorian Brooch Gold Pearl Pink Topaz Emerald Diamond Appraisal (6567)
Wolfers Victorian Brooch Gold Pearl Pink Topaz Emerald Diamond Appraisal (6567)
Measurements: Approximately 2 1/4 inches (6cm) long. Weighs 12.3 grams. Topaz 14.8 ct; diamonds 0.12ct.
Description : Upper section is a large cushion shaped pink topaz, rounded rectangular in shape, in a scalloped gold mount. It floats within a ring of tiny enamel beads surrounded in turn by a ring of pearls with detailed stations at the cardinal points. We believe that the pearls are natural, but the pearls have not been tested. The decoration on either side, top and bottom are scrolls of calibre cut and set emeralds within gold mounts, bordered by black enamel. This gives a lovely flower-like effect.
The drop is another botanic theme with a long pink topaz 'bud' emerging from a 'calyx' of gold, emeralds, moving pearls and set with rosecut diamonds. The drop moves independently as do the pearls on either side.
Comes in original Gustave Wolfers box from Rue de la Madeleine Bruxelles. Has crown, indicating that this firm was the Belgian court Jeweller. Jewellers to the Belgian Royalty.
Marks: Marks on the pin and the c of the clasp. Please see pictures. Gold was acid tested to ensure metal purity.
Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
