Vintage sterling silver skull ring. Man's ring, biker, Goth jewelry or Mexican Calaveras Dia de los Muertos.
From an antique collector who had a sub-collection of skull jewelry, collected during the 20th century. Made in Mexico. Exact age unknown, but presumed 20th century.
Measurements: Weight is 6.2 grams. US size 9.
Description : A ring composed entirely of modelled skulls. The design has been popular for many years and many famous makers have emulated these rings, which are still copied today. This is an older version, probably from the late 1900's. Solid and well made. Works well as an eternity ring.
Skull jewelry is highly collectible amongst different groups of collectors: those interested in fascinating historical interests, such as the Georgian / Victorian messaged Memento Mori (remember, we will all die); bikers, Goths, Hells Angels and others; Mexicans, who celebrate 'dia de los muertos' the Day of the Dead with Calaveras or skull jewelry.
Marks and Metal: somewhat worn marks in shank read Mexico and 925.
Condition: Good with minor wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
