Vintage Brooch pair Dachshund dogs 18k gold diamonds platinum Sausage dog (7281)

Vintage brooch. Pair of Dachshund Wiener or Sausage dogs. 18k yellow gold, platinum, diamonds. Made circa 1930-40's. Very likely made in England, United Kingdom.
Unisex - suitable for a man or a woman.

Measurements: Weight is 4.8 grams. Approximately 1 3/8 inches (3.5cm) from end to end.

Description : Naturalistically modelled pair of Dachshunds. One standing in front of the other. Both seen in profile. THey are connected in body as well as via a gold chain that goes from collar to collar. Realistic modelling of this alert and gay couple, both of whom with tails extended and held high. Rippling muscles and lovely detail to faces, which are slightly different to one another. Both dogs wear a collar made of platinum and set with small rosecut diamonds. Hinged pin with simple c-clasp, typical of the early 20th century.
Dachshund jewelry is generally highly sought after, but a pair of Dachsies is almost unheard of and very special. 

This brooch is extremely well made and attractive. Fabulous!!
