Vintage brooch. 18k yellow gold and diamonds. French hallmarks, but exact origin is not known.

Measurements: approximately 3 inches (7cm) long. Weighs 36.31 grams. 4.50 carats of diamonds in total. Diamonds rated G-H in color.

Very big, exquisitely modelled model of a Mercedes Benz. It could be the ME220, the E230 or the 280S, but we hope a car fundi out there can put us straight on which one. We see the car in profile, facing left with the triangular sign in a circle over the barred radiator in front. The licence plate reads PURO. The wheels spin around (both back and front) if pushed gently. Almost the entire surface is pave set with diamonds and has yellow gold borders. Fabulous, intricate detail from the tiny door handles, to the Mercedes logo on the wheels and the rear-view mirror. Since the brooch is very big and heavy, it has two pins to secure it and not pull on your clothes. C-clasps. The ultimate in luxury.

Marks: one of the pins has the French owl hallmark which indicates 18k gold of unknown maker/ origin. Our guess would be that the origin is Germany or possibly France itself. A bar underneath that adds stability is hallmarked with the same owl, but a bigger version of it, 750 and 18k.

Condition: good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged photographs for details and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer. The brooch comes with an Independent appraisal, which values the brooch at $13,500.00
