Measurements: Weight is 7.2 grams.

Description : Naturalistically sculpted as a pair of pansies. As in nature, there are subtle differences between each flower and each petal, which appear to move and undulate as a living organism. Iridescent purple-pink that glows with light in areas and sinks into shade in the recesses. Tactile and luxurious.
The backs with comfy, hinged gold clips.
Clips them on to adorn any outfit and convey a subtle knowledge of sheer pleasure viscerally, emotionally and intellectually.

Marks and Metal:  Each earrings is signed JAR. The gold clips have 750 marks for 18k gold and a maker's mark lozenge.

Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age.  Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.

THE STORY:
Lord Jacob Rothschild organised a major coup in 2002 when he arranged the first blockbuster exhibition of JAR's jewelry, held in London at Somerset House, with the Gilbert Collection. This was the first public exhibition of JAR's work. Considered the greatest living jeweller, the exhibition placed him in the consciousness of fashionable women in the know, everywhere.

To thank the 145 clients who loaned their jewels for the 400-piece show, he sent each one a pair of ‘Pansy’ earrings in coloured aluminium.  Another 1000 pairs of these earrings for sale at the exhibition were immediately bought by the ecstatic public.
We are very fortunate to have the original pink velvet pouch with gold embossed name as well as the card and catalogue from the 2002 exhibition which will accompany the earrings to their lucky new owner.  These are evidence that this pair of earrings comes from that original, 2002 show.

Known only to the cogniscenti and accessible to a very few priviledged customers, owning a pair of JAR earrings is indicative of being on the inside track. Today, just the 2nd-hand book commemorating that show sells for thousands of dollars.
