Diamonds are set in silver, which was the norm for centuries. Backs are gold.
Very simply cut, small, rosecut diamonds. Some diamonds are yellowish and some almost orange in color. (see pictures).
Nice, round pearls not tested (whether cultured or natural).
Posts with lever-back clasps are very secure.
Marks and Metal: No marks.
Condition: Good with minor wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
THE STORY: These earrings were bought in Barcelona, Spain. The seller, a multi-generational collector, told me that he got them from Frida Kahlo's niece (her sister's daughter) and that they originally belonged to Frida. I have no way of verifying this information.
In their own right, besides the supposed provenance, the earrings are very pretty and wearable.
