Antique Victorian Snake Ring Sapphire Diamonds 18k Gold w Appraisal (6411)

Antique Victorian Napoleon III snake ring. 18k yellow gold, sapphire and diamonds. Made in France, circa 1850-1870.

Measurements: US size 6.65. Weighs 10.7 grams. Sapphire 0.25ct. Diamonds 0.52ct.

Description : A large snake with no less than 4 coils forming the shank of the ring. The final band coiling around the head. The head is beautifully pave set with rose cut diamonds and a deep blue sapphire. Perfect for any occasion and especially as an engagement ring. (Queen Victoria had a snake engagement ring similar to this one).

The two small pink sapphires mentioned in the appraisal  are the eyes of the snake. They are very small and difficult to see in the pictures.

Marks: French owl mark, indicating 18k gold on outside of shank.
