Antique Victorian Diamond Earrings 18k Yellow Gold, Silver, French (7174)

Antique Victorian era diamond earrings. 18k yellow gold, silver and diamonds. Made in France, 19th century - circa 1860 - 1890.

Measurements: Weight is 5.10 grams. 2.54ct rose cut diamonds. diamonds, excluding gold wires approximately 5/8 inch (16mm) top to bottom.

Description : Classic flower-form earrings with beautiful rose cut diamonds forming the centers and petals of the flowers. Small rose cut diamond surmounts from 18k gold wires. As was the custom of the period, diamonds were set in silver over gold to show them off to better effect in candle or gas light. Backs and mounts entirely gold. Hinged clasps for wires. Easy to insert and very secure. Beautiful gems and beautifully made, these earrings are as versatile and wearable today as they were 150 years ago.

Marks and Metal: No marks found. gold was acid and electronically tested.
