Measurements: Weight is 7.1 grams. Approximately 1 3/4 inches (42mm) long; approximately 1 1/2 inches (37mm) wide.
Description : Beautiful cross brooch composed of round and oval cabochon turquoise set in gold in a lively and interesting pattern. The center has diamonds radiating to the diagonals, set in slightly darkened gold. Typical of Victorian jewelry, diamonds are a combination of Old and rose cuts. Turquoise are cabochons. Turquoise have retained their lovely color for the most part, with very slight darkening of bottom arm. Sturdy C-clasp and pin.
Despite the French hallmarks, we believe this brooch was made in England and then imported into France and re-assayed there which is a wonderful reflection of the beauty of the piece.
Marks and Metal: C-clasp with embossed hallmark ET and pin with French owl mark for 18k gold of unknown origin. The brooch was acid tested and metal is 14k (585) (while the pin is 18k gold, per owl mark and acid testing).
Condition: Good with minor wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
