Antique set of jewelry consisting of a cameo brooch and a pair of earrings mounted in 14 carat gold. Cameos are Victorian; Gold mounts possibly later - early 1900's.

Measurements:

Brooch / pendant is a little over 1 1/4 inches long, excluding the loop. Earrings approx 7/8 inches long. Combined weight is 22 grams.

Description:

Carved lava with Classical Greek or Roman godess' heads. Good detail to hair and facial features. Very high, relief carving. Mounted in 14 carat gold.

Backs are enclosed in gold. Gold is pulled around the cameos to hold them securely. Sturdy, well made fittings.

The brooch with a secure fastener and sturdy loop to hang as a pendant. the loop is hinged so that you can fold it out of sight when wearing as a brooch. The earrings with post for pierced ears as well as clips to clip on.

Marks and metal:

All pieces are hallmarked 14K. Clips of earrings with PAT. mark and number.

Condition:

Good condition with minor wear commensurate with age. A line below the nose on the brooch cannot be felt (has no depth that I can feel) and can probably be polished out. (mentioned only for the sake of total accuracy- not visible unless you are looking for it). Please see enlarged -pictures and do not hesitate to ask questions, which we will do our best to answer.
