Antique Victorian Brooch 18k Gold Diamonds Ruby Unisex French Poodle Dog (7038)

Antique Victorian brooch. 18k yellow gold, a small amount of silver, diamonds and a tiny ruby. Made in France, 19th century. Unisex - suitable for a man or a woman.

Measurements: Weight is 14.8 grams. Length approximately 1 3/4 inches (43mm).

Description : Brooch superbly modelled as a French poodle. Made almost entirely of rich yellow gold, it is absolutely gorgeous - from the long, floppy ears, puffy hairdo on the head, to the lion-like mane and pompoms above the ankles and at the end of the tail. A broad collar set with small diamonds in silver around the neck. A tiny ruby forms the eye. Magnificent dog - absolutely regal and beautifully made in unsurpassed French workmanship. Fabulous, fine detail from the curls of the coat to the little toes. As wearable today as it was 150 years ago and suitable for any/every person.

Marks and Metal: French eagle head for 18k gold, made in France, struck twice on the pin.
