Antique Sterling silver condiment set consisting of salt, pepper, mustard with original blue glass liner, in fitted box. Made Birmingham England, 1932.
Measurements:
Box is a little over 5 1/2 inches across. Salt and pepperette approx 1 3/8 inches high; Mustard is approx 1 1/2 inches to top of thumb piece.
Description:
Original leather fitted box with silk and velvet lining. Barrel shaped salt and pepper castors. Lids screw on and off easily. Salt has dent at top of lid (see 'photos). Mustard is also barrel shaped, but rounder with delicate handle and strong hinged lid. Small dent on lid of mustard. Original blue glass liner.
The set features barrel-shaped designs with finely crafted, embodying the elegance of early 20th-century silverware.
Marks and Metal:
Mustard and salt are hallmarked with maker A.S.P. CO; anchor (for Birmingham), lion (for sterling silver), date letter H for 1932. Pepper is similarly marked but date is J and maker is E.E.
Condition:
Salt and mustard have dings to lids. Glass liner in good shape. Please see 'photos and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
