Antique jewelry set consisting of a ring and matching earrings. Diamonds set in silver on 19.25k gold. Made circa 1900 in Portugal.
Ring is approximately US size 5.5 and contains 9 rose cut diamonds. Earrings are 15mm in diameter and each is set with 9 rose-cut diamonds. Combined weight is 11.1 grams. Earrings 0.20ct diamonds; ring 0.25ct diamonds.
Diamonds set in silver as was the custom during the Victorian and earlier era. This shows them off to better advantage. The silver is backed on gold - 19.25k in Portugal. Openwork flower designs. A central diamond with openwork loops and scrolls around it. Silver is beaded, pulled and engraved for further interest and detail. Earrings with concentric circles; ring with fleur de lis - as seen more clearly when viewed from the back. Beautifully made as seen by detail of the backs. The earrings have posts with screw on stoppers for extra security. Classic.
