Antique Georgian ring. Gold, garnet, pearls. Most likely made in England circa early 1800's.
Can be worn by a man or a woman - unisex.
Measurements:
Weight is 3.4 grams. A little over a US size 6. Can be sized.
Description :
Square shape, arching to accommodate the finger. The centre set with a cabochon garnet. Surrounded by small pearls - probably natural, but not tested. Raised in a sort of box above the shoulders. Shoulders are engraved gold - scrolling foliate design, leading to a simple gold band.
If we look at the back of the bezel, we find an inset gold locket, intended to hold the hair of a friend or departed loved one.
Marks and Metal:
No marks. Gold was electronically tested as low gold - possibly 9k.
Condition:
Good with minor wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
