Antique Georgian ring. 18k gold, silver, rose cut diamonds. Made in France, first half of the 19th century - circa 1820-18*30. Independent appraisal.

Measurements: Weight is 3.4 grams. 0.97ct diamonds. US size 7.

Description : A beautiful old, late Georgian diamond ring.
Heart-shaped bezel with a large rosecut diamond in the center, surrounded by a ring of smaller rosecuts, all set in silver over gold, as was the custom at the time. Above is a bow or crown, set with even smaller diamonds. Back of mount in gold. The shank is also gold with a narrow and a wider strap horizontal at the shoulders, over 3 gold bands that come together to form the shank.
The central diamond looks a lot more than its estimated 0.75ct.
I was told that this ring came from a very old French family and had been kept in a vault for decades. There is no way to verify/deny this information.

Marks and Metal: Hallmark on outside of the shank is not totally legible, but appears to be the ram's head facing left, used in France 1819-1838. Gold was acid and electronically tested as 18k.

Condition: Bezel in good condition with negligible wear commensurate with age. The shank is fairly delicate and narrow, which seems to be the way it was made and not due to wear although it does have minor surface scratching, commensurate with age/use. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
