Weight is 5.1 grams. 1 5/8 inches (4.24cm) long. Approximately 2.49ct diamonds.
Description :
Elongated, elegant, stylized foliate design. Posts lead to a linear drop of diamonds that forks outwards into a pair of scrolling curves that come together in a heart shape. Millegrained white gold mounts that scroll within the heart, adding to the effect of twining stems. A much smaller version of this inverted heart at the bottom, leads to a short line of diamonds that ends in a bud-like round Old European cut. Diamonds are mounted in white gold collets. Fluid and supple. Free movement. Posts are easy to insert and comfortable to wear. Great sense of movement. Just imagine how they gleamed in candle or gas light.

There are unknown marks on the side of the earrings. Gold was electronically tested as 10-14k. See note on antique metal below.

As with most unsigned antique jewelry, we cannot know exactly who owned and cared for these earrings for over 4 generations and over 100 years. We can imagine them being worn by a fashionable and wealthy woman. The quality and materials reflect a person of means. Since so much jewelry was gifted to the original owner, we can wonder what occasion gave her these earrings? Was it a wedding? They'd be perfect for a bride. Was it an engagement?
