Antique Art Nouveau long chain necklace sautoir. 18k yellow gold. Made in France circa 1895 -1905

Measurements: 60.5inches (154cm) long. Weighs 39.9 grams.

Description : Extremely long gold chain necklace known as a sautoir. Originally worn from shoulder to waist and can be wound around the neck many times, around the wrist or arm or any combination and length your taste of the day or outfit desires. Chain consists of a variety of links in a regular pattern. Navette or boat shaped large links with gold borders enclosing fine twisted filigree gold scrolling patterns within. These are linked by chains of smaller loops. Very well made and stunning with any outfit for women of any age.

Marks: loops near the jump clasp have a number of hallmarks, including the eagle head used in France to denote 18k gold.
