Antique Art Nouveau knife or scissors sheath case. Figural woman sterling silver. Made by Unger Brothers (1872-1910), Newark, New Jersey. Circa 1890-1905.
Measurements: a tad under 6 1/2 inches long; weighs 27.2 grams.
Triangular in shape, tapering towards the bottom. An opening/hook at the back/top in order to hang it from a hook. The entire top surface is luxuriously embellished in repousse Nouveau decoration - scrolls and flowers and an exquisite figure of a woman, a band around her forehead, a sumptuous necklace and top, her diaphenous garments revealing her body below. Exquisitely designed and executed.
Marks: Unger Bros interlaced U & B as well as STERLING 925 FINE.
Condition: good with negligible wear commensurate with age.
