Antique Art Deco ring. 14k yellow gold, platinum, amethyst and diamonds. Made circa 1920's, USA. Has been independently appraised.

Measurements: Weight is 4.2 grams. Just under US size 7. Amethyst appraised as weighing 5.43ct.

Description : Absolute Art Deco ring. A deep purple amethyst, rectangular in shape with canted corners. On either side a half-circle of gold floats around and frames a half-circle of platinu, which contains a small diamond. The mount of yellow gold that holds the amethyst on the opposite ends is a fabulous Art Deco design, only visible when you look carefully, but indicative of the lavish care taken to create this ring. The color of the amethyst is a wonderful, deep, deep purple, often referred to as Siberian amethyst. It is certainly a royal color and set of beautifully by the yellow gold, which is it's complementary color. The color, glows magically and luxuriously, especially at night and the ring can be worn along with any sort of outfit from casual to very elegant and artistic. The strong design is pure Art deco - all geometric shapes and rising towers.

Marks and Metal: Tucked inside the hoop, near the bezel on one side is a maker's mark. The other side of the hoop has 14kPLAT engraved in it. This almost certainly indicates an American manufacturer.

Condition: Good with minor wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer. Independent appraisal available to new owner. Valued at $3500.00
