Antique Vintage pendant. 18k gold, aquamarine. Made circa 1930's to 1940's. Independent appraisal.
Weight is 14.0 grams. Just under 1 1/4 inches (slightly under 3cm) long, not including the bale. Aquamarine is 26.93ct.
Antique Vintage pendant. Strong statement with bold, rectangular design as seen in the late Deco - early Retro period. Rectangular in shape with strongly slanting gold mount leading to an emerald cut aquamarine gem centerpiece. The gold, with matching gold bale (loop), is etched with a floral and beaded gold theme. Each side of the sloping rectangle has a subtlely raised strap of gold with a smaller version of the floral design. These pseudo straps lead to the gold prongs that hold the aquamarine in place. The light blue aquamarine is a lovely example of a nice, clear quality......with no inclusions or distractions within the gem. The simple geometric facets allow for a pretty play of light between light blue and dark shadow. The back is a sturdy gold frame.
No marks. Gold was acid tested to ensure metal purity.
Good with negligible wear commensurate with age.
