Antique Victorian Jardiniere Planter Parquet Fruitwood & Brass Scotland (1873)

Antique Victorian planter jardiniere pot plant holder. Fruitwood with original brass liner. Made in Scotland, mid 19th century. 

Measurements:

Measures 10inches high, excluding the handle,which adds approx 4 1/2inches to the height.

Description:

Bucket-shaped body, carved with horizontal folds and with alternating bands of light and dark fruitwood, interspersed by 3 ebonised ringbands.  Stands on a conforming domed, round pedestal base raised on 3 ball feet. Brass swing handle on the sides have leaf-shaped attachments with copper studs.  Original, matching brass liner. 
Narrow grained woods masterfully carved and fitted marquetry / parquetry. Great patina. 

Condition:

Excellent condition for it's age. Ebony has negligible wear.
