Antique Arts and Crafts pendant. 14k gold, tourmaline and natural pearls. Made circa 1890-1910, possibly in America.
the tourmaline measures 11.19ct; Largest pearl is 7.0mm, smallest is 2mm. Weight 8.7grams.
Oval pink tourmaline, gently faceted on the top, collet-set with a wreath of pearls on either side. The smaller pearls are collet-set while the 3 larger, pearls are prong set. The pendant may have begun life as a buckle/brooch and, like much jewellery, been converted to something more practical as fashions changed.
no marks, typical of this era. Gold tested for 14k.
