Antique Liberty & Co Cymric...

Antique Arts and Crafts Napkin Holder sold by Liberty and Co.

Sterling silver set with natural matrix turquoise.

Made Birmingham, England 1904.

Diameter of the ring is 1 3/4 - 2 inches (wider in the middle).

Weighs 23.7grams.

Strong Arts & Crafts Design.

A pair of flat bands on either side of a rounded, wider central band.

Top and bottom borders with repousse hammered 'nail head dots', in the hand-worked, medieval tradition.

The wider, central portion has a ring of alternating raised silver adornments and colette-set cabochon turquoise.

The silver design looks like a flying duck or intriqueing symbol.

The turquoise matrix was extremely popular in the Arts & Crafts movement and the pulled silver mounts reinforce the concept.

Hallmarks: L & Co - registered silver trademark for Liberty & Co, anchor for Birmingham, lion for sterling silver standard and date letter 'e' for 1904, followed by the word CYMRIC.

Good condition.
