Antique Art Deco ring. Platinum, white gold, amethyst and diamonds. Believed to originate in Belgium circa 1930's.

Measurements:
Weight is 7.1 grams. A little under a US size 7. Length is 7/8 inch (21mm). Width is 5/8 inch (16mm). Amethyst measures 16mm X 11mm.
Amethyst is 8.66ct. 0.82ct diamonds.
Description :
Rectangular shape with canted corners. The large rectangular amethyst of a deep purple color with large flat table and gentle faceting on each side. Amethyst is held by sturdy prongs at the corners. It is surrounded by a border of small, tightly pave set diamonds with millegrained borders to the metal. Simple band thickens at the shoulders where it supports the gems.
From the back, we see an openwork grille that raises the ring above the level of the finger and allows light to enter from behind, adding to the gleam of the gems.
Strong design typical of the Art Deco period.
Marks and Metal:
inside shank has 950 PT; a coffin-shaped mark with two letters (possibly 00) and 750 (for 18k gold).
Condition:
