Measurements:
Weight is 15.6 grams. Outer circumference is approximately 8 1/2 inches (21.5cm). Approximate Inner length is 2 7/8 inches (7.5cm). Each diamond is approximately .25ct.
Description :
Gold bangle, called 'rigid' by the French (as opposed to floppy and flexible). The tubular oval very richly engraved all the way around the outer circumference. Engraving depicts scrolls, foliage, flowers. The 'top' side is set with 3 lovely bright diamonds that shine forth from the gleaming gold.
A tiny thumbpiece allows us to open the bangle, revealing a long strip of gold held within the hollow of the gold tube. Hinged on the opposite side. This allows the hand to fit into the bangle easily and then to close using only 1 hand instead of struggling to make parts of a clasp fit. Simply slide the sides along the strip of gold and they click into place. Very convenient.
Great quality and craftsmanship. Wear singly or stacked.
Marks and Metal:
The inner strip of gold that allows the bangle to open significantly wider is embossed PAT. NOV. 7. 05 Gold was electronically tested as 18k. A raised oval on the inside of the bangle has letters or numbers that are too worn to read.
Condition:
Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
THE STORY:
While the French excelled at dramatic designs during the Art Nouveau era, American jewelry companies excelled in other spheres. In particular, gold bangles with swirling, scrolling engraved and repousse designs, the best ones set with gems, were made in the USA.
Antique Art Nouveau gold bangles made in the USA embody understated elegance that feels effortlessly refined. Their gentle curves and subtle motifs give them a quiet sophistication rather than a sculptural boldness, making them beautifully wearable for both everyday moments and more polished occasions. Beautiful craftmanship, harmonious and well-proportioned, they slip seamlessly into modern wardrobes, adding a touch of historic charm without overwhelming an outfit. That versatility is part of their allure—they enhance rather than compete, letting their timeless craftsmanship speak for itself.
Today these bangles are especially sought after for their adaptability and universal appeal. Worn singly or stacked in multiples, on one arm or both, they offer endless styling possibilities. As they become increasingly rare, assembling sets has grown more challenging, only heightening their desirability among collectors and enthusiasts.
