Antique Victorian bangle bracelet. 18k gold and silver. Made in France, last quarter of the 19th century.  
Measurements: Outer circumference is a little over 8 inches (21cm). Width of bangle is 1 inch (2.5cm). Weighs 52.5 grams. 
Description : A pair of very solid gold bands border a wide silver ribbon, the front with a rich openwork relief sculpted  vignette, the back, hand-hammered silver. The scene of the front/top depicts Bacchus in the center, wildly flowing curls, surrounded by grapes, vines, vine-leaves and other plants such as pine cones. On his right is a chubby winged cherub and on his left, the full body of a panther. Exceptionally rich and luxurious. The back is the perfect foil for this rich scenario  - understated hammered finish.  
Tongue in groove clasp and safety chain. Strong, secure hinge.  
Marks:  The word DEPOSE is engraved on a banner beneath the panther. The tongue of the clasp with French hallmarks - eagle head for 18k gold and diamond lozenge for the maker.
