Vintage Retro earrings ear clips. 14k yellow gold, aquamarine and blue sapphires. Made by Tiffany & Co 1940's.

Description :
Combining strong design and great color combination. Earrings are stylized botanical or foliate with swirling ribbons connecting sections. The lowest section consists of overlapping, elongated gold foliage. The leaves meet at a focal point set with a pretty, light blue aquamarine. Bands of gold ribbons surround the aquamarine, floating and swirling between lower and upper sections. The upper section consists of overlapping leaves, echoing the larger foliage below, from which extend trios of prong-set royal blue sapphires.
The coiling bands of gold echo the 'machine age' theme of Retro jewelry, hinting at power and strength. The color combination of the marvelous blue sapphires and the gentler aquamarine against the gold background, is another successful theme. In fact, the blue of the sapphires reflect in the gold sheets behind them.
Original screw-back fittings make these earrings ideal for both non-pierced and pierced ears.
