Antique Victorian Earrings ...

Antique Victorian earrings. 14 carat yellow gold, seed pearls and ruby-colored paste. Made circa 1860.

Measurements:

Weighs 10.5 grams. A little under 2 1/2 inches long, not including wires.

Description:

Long earrings with a much bigger look than their actual weight, making them comfortable to wear but significant looking. Inverted V's suspended from loops allow for greatest swing as the wearer moves. Support a rounded oval base with a ring of stippled gold globes enclosing an oval frame of tiny seed pearls, within which is a ruby-red faceted paste (imitation gem). A trio of kite-shapes dangle from the bottom of each earring - adding twinkle and movement. Replaced wires.

Marks and Metal:

Like most Victorian jewelry, no hallmarks, but tested as 14k.

Condition:

 good with minor wear commensurate with age.
