THE STORY:
During the 1920's, following WWI, women celebrated their newly achieved liberation by cutting their hair short and wearing open-necked, flimsy dresses. They went to wild parties, dancing the night away. They drove in open, fast cars - hair and attire blowing back in the wind.  To balance the display of necks and chests, women wore long, dangling earrings that swung and swayed with every movement. These elegant, fun earrings were often brightly colored to add interest and variety. Yet, the quality of the workmanship was not spared and the earrings reflect the new techniques developed during the early 1900's.
Art Deco earrings / ear pendants are impossible to miss. They reflect a very special, short period between the two world wars when fun and beauty were celebrated, inspiring novels like the Great Gatsby.
