Antique / vintage brooch. Jade and 9k gold. Made in China late 19th or early 20th century. Unisex - suitable for a man or a woman.
Weight is 7.6 grams. A little over 1 1/2 inches (4cm) long.
Oval in shape. Green jade. Entirely hand carved with varous important and lucky symbols such as an exotic bird, a lotus flower, a peach and others. Very intricate and all hand done, with the carving going right through the jade - an incredibly delicate and difficult accomplishment. Very pretty and highly wearable for a man or a woman. Back with a gold bar that forks on either side and holds the hinged pin and c-clasp.
The gold bar at the back is engraved with a number of Chinese words. We acid tested the gold.
