/
Availability:
1 left in stock
Antique Victorian / Napoleon III bangle bracelet. 18k gold. Made in Paris, France, 2nd half 19th century by Paul Laroche.
Comes in original, fitted box.
Measurements: Weight is 29.6 grams. Approximately 7 1/4inches (18.5cm) long. Width of bracelet is 7/8 inch (22mm).
Description : A wide gold bracelet composed of 7 articulated rectangular links that fit together and close to form a continuous wide band of gold. Bordered on upper and lower edges by tubular shaped gold cylinders that protrude above the level of the rest of the bangle. Within is a finely beaded line and then a broad pattern of openwork scrolls and foliage.
The tongue-in-groove clasp is hidden within the edges of the terminal links.
An gold chain linked to either end provides additional security.
The bracelet is very comfortable to wear and looks as wonderful on the arm today, as it did well over 100 years ago.
The bracelet comes in a black leather case with monogram HB. Inside it is marked
LAROCHE Joaillier Bijoutier Fabrique Boulevard de Sebastopol 107 (rive droite) PARIS. The lid of the case needs to be reglued to the bottom, but the ribbons connecting top to bottom and the catch of the box are in good shape. Leather with minor wear, comensurate with age.
The jeweller, Paul Laroche was active in Paris from 1851.
Marks and Metal: The tongue of the clasp has multiple eagle head marks that denote 18k, made in France. Maker's mark lozenge also on tongue, includes an hourglass and the initials P L, which match the name inside the box (Laroche) and stand for Paul Laroche.
Condition: Good with minor dings commensurate with age. Please see description of the box above. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
