CARTIER Vintage Earrings Ear Clips Gold Carnelian Heart Flowers Modernist (7118)

Vintage Modernist earrings ear clips. 14k gold and carnelian. Made by Cartier, USA circa 1840-80's.

Measurements: Weight is 16.1 grams. Diameter of flower a little over 1 inch (26mm). flower approximately 3/4 inches (2cm) deep.

Description : Lovely ear clips designed as deep, open hearts and flowers. 4 heart-shaped petals form a deep half dome or cup to contain the centre of the flower. In the center is a large carnelian round bead with a gold floral center that anchors it in place. Transluscency of carnelian and mirror shine of gold cause constant play of light and movement that attracts the eye infinitely. The carnelians are reflected in the gold petals, adding color and interest. Lovely glow and warmth. Very pretty. Very wearable.
Made for non-pierced ears. Elegant and comfortable to wear, they make a big statement with just the right touch to finish off an outfit.

Marks and Metal: Both earrings are fully hallmarked as follows: A serial number 14702 over Pat 2199222 over CARTIER 14K. Clips of earrings are also marked 14kt.
