Antique Victorian chain bracelet bangle. 18k gold with 14k tongue. Made late 19th to early 20th century. Unisex - suitable for a man or a woman.
Measurements: Length is approximately 19cm (just under 7 1/2 inches). Width is a little over 1.5cm. Weight is 34.6 grams.
Description : Wide chain link bracelet. Subtle, impressive design. Half-moon curved links alternate between smoothe and engraved and patterned. The patterned links have swirls on their upper side and organic textured surface on the inside. This depth of subtlety and workmanship could only have been done at a time when artisans cared about the quality of their workmanship and took pride in their products. While big and impressive, the bracelet is relatively light and comfortable to wear and has the look and feel of a really luxurious item. A safety chain adds security to the tongue-in-groove clasp.
Marks: No marks found. Gold was acid tested to ensure metal purity. The bracelet is 18k, while the tongue of the clasp seems to be weak on the 18k and so we are calling it 14k.
Condition: Very good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
