Antique Art Deco earrings, long ear pendants. 18k gold, platinum, pearls, onyx, diamonds. Made in France, 1920's.
Measurements: Weight is 4.9 grams. Lenght is 2inches (a little over 5cm).
Description : Long, long earrings with lots of movement, as was the craze and trend of the Flapper era. Posts hold a pearl in a cup of gold that suspends a line of gems, including: tiny diamonds colette-set in platinum, small pearls, onyx cylinders. All connected via tiny platinum links, which allow total articulation and movement at every stage. Finally, at the bottom, is an oval baroque pearl surrounded by a pear-shaped loop of pitch black onyx. We believe the pearls are natural, but they have not been tested.
Backs/butterflies/catches of posts are possibly later.
The combination of black and white is of course, stunning. This added to the eye-catching movement and the very fine workmanship, make these a classic must-have for any collector or fashion-conscious lady.
Marks and Metal: Posts are hallmarked with French marks for 18k gold (eagle heads). We used electronic tester which confirmed 18k gold and the tiny parts around diamonds as platinum.
Backs of posts are signed MECAN ZOP and have a tiny hallmark.
Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. One of the pearls has a brown spot/natural flaw at the back, where it cannot be seen when the earrings are worn. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
