Antique Georgian Fede Friendship Ring 18k Gold clasped hands Unisex (6873)

Antique Georgian ring. 18k yellow gold. Made early 19th century. Unisex - suitable for a man or a woman.

 

Measurements: Weight is 11.68 grams. US size 8 1/4 (a little over 8).

 

Description : Like all friendship/fede rings, the bezel consists of a pair of clasped hands. Unlike most fede rings, the hands are beautifully modelled, ver naturalistic and elegant. On either side, sloping towards the shoulders are fluted pillars and scrolls, much like the capitols of Ancient Greek columes. The sides of the shoulder are inlaid with cabochon carnelians, adding a soft glow to the ring. Simple cylindrical hoop.

 

The ring is very solid and beautifully made. It has a powerful presence and is suitable for either a man or a woman and makes a superb gift of friendship and/or love.

 

Marks and Metal: No marks as is to be expected. Gold was acid tested and stays for 18k.
