Antique late Victorian - Edwardian negligee necklace. 18k gold, platinum, emeralds and diamonds. Made late 19th - early 20th century - circa 1900-1910.
Measurements: Weight is 3.7 grams. Pendant section approximately 1 1/4 inch (3.25cm) from top to bottom. Total length, 18 1/2 inches (48.4cm).
Description : A small, classic negligee pendant necklace. Fine, platinum chain leads to a bar of platinum, pave set with a line of rose-cut diamonds. Tiny loops suspend the bar drops, allowing them to move independently of the other sections of the necklace. Each bar is set with rose-cut diamonds. As with negligee necklaces, one bar is longer than the other, with intentional assymmetry adding design interest. The bars in turn, suspend little flowers composed of rose-cut diamond petals set in platinum with cabochon emerald centers. Backs of flowers are 18k yellow gold.
Marks and Metal: no marks. Metal was acid tested and electronically tested.
