Measurements: Weight is 4.7 grams. Length of earrings is approximately 1 inch (28mm), excluding wires.
Description : Earrings are gold, but the diamonds drops are set in silver, like most antique jewelry. The silver is backed in gold to prevent tarnish from dirtying the wearer's skin or clothes. Art Deco elongated triangular surmounts with tiny rose-cut diamonds set in silver, again backed in gold. The loops joining tops to drops allow the diamonds to swing and sway as the wearer moves, catching the eye and adding interest to the design. It is quite unusual to find dormeuse earrings with Art Deco design from this period.
Gold wires are easy to insert and comfortable to wear, hence the name 'dormeuse' which implies that you can sleep with them. Lever catch secures wires ensuring that they don't fall out.
A versatile and very useful pair of earrings that can be worn with any outfit and minimal fuss and bother. Very well made. Very attractive.
Marks and Metal: French eagle head marks for 18k gold, made in Paris, on side of wires.
Condition: Good with negligible wear commensurate with age. Please see enlarged pictures and don't hesitate to ask questions which we will do our best to answer.
Independant appraisal available to new owner upon request.
