VINTAGE / ANTIQUE handpainted fan, souvenier of Havana, Cuba. Probably dates to very early 20th century.


Measures approx 14 inches accros the top and guard is approx 8 inches long.


Fan is made of cotton fabric. The front is beautifully handpainted with a view of buldings in the town of Havana, surrounded by old, Victorian street lamps, Palm trees on either side, a beautiful flower garden & lawns in the front, all under a gorgeous orange and turquoise sky.
Although it is clearly made as a souvenier, as the big bright red letters CAPITOLIO HAVANA CUBA proclaim, the art is quite wonderfully done.

The edge on top is bordered with a silver foil-like ribbon. The sticks are reticulated wooden, with a delicate pattern. Guards are painted in black laquer.


Condition is very good. No damage.
