Antique Chinese silver and other natural materials, such as carved mother of pearl snuff box. Made circa

1800. 

3 inches long; 2 1/4 inches wide. Weighs 48.4grams. 

Oval shape. The top is a single piece of beautifully carved mother of pearl (abalone). It is set into a

silver box with a hinged lid. The carving depicts a man riding a water buffalo, a popular theme in the

late 18th - early 19th century. Surrounded by flowers.

Almost as beautiful when open and see the contrast of the marbled bottom and pearly top. Very rare and

exceptional piece with great workmanship and quality throughout.

Generally very good condition with a tiny rough patch in the natural material of the bottom, mentioned

only for the sake of accuracy, but not impinging on the beauty of the piece.
